Kick-off Meeting in Rome: European Ediltrophy begins its journey
Rome, January 30, 2025 - The Kick-off Meeting of the European Ediltrophy project concluded today, hosted by Formedil in Rome on January 29 and 30. This initiative, led by Formedil and co-funded by the European Union under the ERASMUS+ KA220-VET program, marks the start of an innovative journey dedicated to training in the construction sector.
European Ediltrophy is a project with a European-wide impact, dedicated to promoting innovation, digitalization, and sustainability in the construction sector, with a specific focus on dry construction systems. Through training programs and international collaborations, the project aims to enhance the skills of construction workers and technicians, fostering more sustainable practices. Additionally, through the Gaming Ediltrophy experiment, it introduces an innovative and inclusive training methodology that can be replicated in other sectors.
Main Objectives
- Promote a culture of environmental sustainability and the use of dry construction systems as an efficient method in line with the European Green Deal.
- Develop innovative training programs to respond to digital and environmental changes in the construction sector (Construction 4.0).
- Experiment with a Gaming-based training method, highly innovative and flexible, adaptable to national and cross-sectoral contexts, as well as social inclusion pathways.
- Strengthen collaborations among European partners in the field of vocational training.
- Support social inclusion and promote rights and duties within the European Union by involving people with fewer opportunities in training and work paths.
During the meeting, project partners discussed the content and various development phases of the initiative, laying the groundwork for a program aimed at enhancing professional skills in the construction sector. The project's core themes include training in dry construction systems, digitalization, and sustainability, which are crucial aspects for the sector's future.
The project will culminate in the organization of two European-level competitions: a masonry competition and a design contest, with the goal of showcasing excellence and promoting innovation in the construction sector.
